Why not Same-Day Voter Registration?

Current Georgia law requires a voter to register at least 28 days before an election in order to be eligible to vote. This cutoff is arbitrary. There is no justifiable reason for denying any Georgia citizen their right to vote.

Current Georgia law requires a voter to register at least 28 days before an election in order to be eligible to vote. This cutoff is arbitrary and discourages otherwise eligible voters from exercising their rights to vote.

Any voter who provides a valid photo ID should be allowed to vote provisionally with the provisional ballot being counted as soon as the voter is verified. There is no justifiable reason for denying any Georgia citizen their right to vote.

If we can approve a credit in a few minutes, we can also Register Voters

As Secretary of State I will advocate for Same Day Voter Registration. I will not engage in partisan tricks that attempt to unethically purge the voting rolls. I will work to eliminate the arbitrary registration deadlines and make it easier for EVERYONE to register to vote. I believe that all eligible voters should be heard on election day!
